Brooke Shields exploded onto the entertainment landscape with her roles in somewhat controversial films including Pretty Baby, Blue Lagoon, and Endless Love. In addition, Shields starred in a well known marketing campaign for Calvin Kline jeans.

After taking a break from acting to go to school, Shields returned to acting in the late 19990s and 2000s, appearing in numerous TV movies and series, including starring in the sitcom Suddenly Susan. In more recent years, Shields has become well known for her prolific use of social media.
